[Los Angeles, USA | October 31, 2025] — To further unite the overseas Chinese community and deepen China–U.S. economic, trade, and cultural exchanges, the U.S. Northwest Chamber of Commerce held a grand inauguration ceremony for its newly appointed board members at “Banquet 36” in Los Angeles.
The event was attended by Mr. Zhang Yong, President of the Federation of Chinese American Associations (FCAA) and Honorary President of the U.S. Northwest Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Zhao Hongmin, Honorary President; Ms. Jiang Fengnian, President of the Chamber; and numerous board members and representatives. As the largest and most influential Chinese community organization in the United States, the FCAA sent several senior delegates to the ceremony, demonstrating its strong support for the Chamber’s future growth.
The ceremony began in a solemn yet celebratory atmosphere. In his opening remarks, President Zhang Yong emphasized that since its founding, the Chamber has upheld the spirit of “unity, innovation, and progress,” making significant contributions to promoting bilateral economic and cultural ties between China and the United States.
He noted that the inauguration of the new board marks an important new chapter in the Chamber’s development. “At a time when the global economic landscape is undergoing profound change and China–U.S. relations continue to evolve,” Zhang said, “Chinese entrepreneurs must stay confident, leverage their resources, and take proactive roles in building bridges of mutual benefit and cooperation between the two nations.”

Honorary President Zhao Hongmin highlighted that the Federation of Chinese American Associations, as a core umbrella organization of Chinese communities across the U.S., has long served as a vital link connecting societies, businesses, and cultures of both countries. He highly commended the achievements under President Jiang Fengnian’s leadership and remarked:
“In just a few short years, the U.S. Northwest Chamber of Commerce has grown into a major Chinese business platform with tens of thousands of members nationwide. This accomplishment reflects the dedication and collective effort of countless members of the overseas Chinese community.”
He expressed hope that the new board would continue this pragmatic tradition, expand cooperation horizons, and guide the Chinese business community toward higher-quality development in the new era.
During the appointment ceremony, Mr. Jitong Yao, Chairman of Mutong Capital, was officially appointed as Vice President and Chair of the Economic and Trade Committee of the U.S. Northwest Chamber of Commerce. As a leading representative of the new generation of Chinese entrepreneurs active in both China and the United States, Mr. Yao has long been engaged in the fields of artificial intelligence, educational technology, and international investment. He has led multiple China–U.S. collaborative projects and achieved remarkable results in advancing technology transfer, education internationalization, and corporate innovation.

In his address, Mr. Yao stated that he will fully leverage Mutong Capital’s industrial expertise and global resources to build a new platform for cross-border cooperation in technology and education. He pointed out that China and the U.S. possess highly complementary strengths in technological innovation systems and educational resources, offering tremendous potential for collaboration.
Looking ahead, the Economic and Trade Committee will focus on promoting the establishment of a “Northwest–Silicon Valley Innovation Corridor,” facilitating in-depth cooperation among universities, research institutions, and innovative enterprises in both regions to accelerate the internationalization of technological achievements.
He also emphasized that the Committee will prioritize youth entrepreneurship and talent exchange, creating a cross-border innovation incubation mechanism that enables young entrepreneurs and students to connect with global networks through the Chamber.
“In this new era, a chamber of commerce must not only serve its members but also shoulder the social responsibility of fostering knowledge exchange and technological sharing,” Yao said. “Through concrete cooperation, we aim to make education a bridge, innovation a bond, and inject positive momentum into China–U.S. relations.”
President Jiang Fengnian expressed her gratitude to President Zhang Yong and Honorary President Zhao Hongmin for their presence and extended a warm welcome to the newly appointed board members. She noted that their inauguration represents a new beginning, mission, and vision for the Chamber. Moving forward, the organization will continue to base its work on people-to-people collaboration between China and the U.S., focusing on integrating technology, education, and trade to achieve tangible results in bilateral cooperation.

The ceremony concluded with a group photo of all attendees, marking a moment of unity and enthusiasm. The successful completion of the inauguration not only signifies a new development phase for the U.S. Northwest Chamber of Commerce but also highlights the emergence of a new generation of overseas Chinese entrepreneurs as a dynamic force driving China–U.S. cooperation in technology and education.
