Gates Yao Leads DreamGet in Establishing OSSD International School in Heze, Setting a New Benchmark for Sino-Canadian Educational Cooperation

As China advances toward high-quality educational development, cross-border collaboration in education continues to deepen. Recently, a tripartite cooperation agreement was signed between USCA Academy (Canada)Heze Gongmao Vocational Secondary School, and DreamGet Education Group to officially launch the OSSD International Curriculum Experimental Program. This marks the establishment of the first Ontario-certified international high school curriculum in Southwest Shandong. Under the leadership of Gates Yao, Chairman of DreamGet Education Group, the project was successfully implemented, resulting in the founding of a future-facing, globally aligned OSSD International School in Heze, creating a new pathway for international education in third-tier cities.

The program introduces the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) curriculum, officially recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education, Canada. It adopts a dual-teacher instruction model (Chinese and Canadian), a full-process assessment system, and international student registration. Coupled with personalized university counseling and competency-based development, the initiative allows students to access an authentic international education locally, preparing them for seamless admission into top 100 universities worldwide. The project not only fills a regional gap in international curriculum offerings but also serves as a demonstration of innovation in vocational education reform and internationalization.

Gates Yao, as the principal architect of the project, remarked:

“Educational equity should not stop at first-tier cities. At DreamGet, we are committed to bringing world-class education resources to ordinary families in ordinary cities. The founding of the Heze OSSD International School represents a significant step forward in our long-term strategy to extend quality education access and help students move from local classrooms to global opportunities.”

DreamGet Education Group is among the earliest institutions in China to introduce the OSSD curriculum. With over a decade of experience in international education, the Group operates across 14 key cities in China, having served more than 10,000 students. Thousands of graduates have successfully matriculated at world-renowned universities such as the University of Toronto, McGill University, Columbia University, and Imperial College London. The Heze project, directly overseen by Gates Yao, represents a strategic expansion of DreamGet’s “elite education with equity” vision into central China.

Heze Gongmao Vocational Secondary School, the domestic host institution, has in recent years explored innovation in educational reform, industry-education integration, and international exchange. School officials expressed confidence that the introduction of the OSSD curriculum would significantly broaden students’ global outlook while upgrading the school’s educational philosophy and talent development model. The school plans to work closely with partners in curriculum design, faculty training, and student development, aiming to build the international division into a regional flagship.

USCA Academy provides comprehensive curriculum support, academic management, and global university admission pathways. Representatives from USCA stated that the program is not merely an educational export, but a co-created and locally adapted framework that combines international standards with regional implementation, ensuring students are globally competitive while studying at home.

At the signing ceremony, attended by education bureau officials, university delegates, media outlets, and representatives from prospective partner schools, the project’s official launch was celebrated. Following the ceremony, DreamGet Education Group hosted a curriculum briefing and faculty training session, presenting a full overview of the OSSD program structure, instructional model, evaluation system, academic advising, and parent-school service framework. The event received enthusiastic feedback, with several institutions expressing interest in joining the initiative.

Education observers noted that the collaboration between Gates Yao, DreamGet, Heze Gongmao, and USCA Academy represents a high-level, high-quality integration of educational equity, international standards, admissions pathways, and implementation capacity. It sets a replicable model for other third-tier cities seeking to internationalize local education. As the project advances, the school is expected to become a national exemplar of vocational education transformation, offering a scalable “DreamGet Solution” for education reform in other regions.

Looking ahead, DreamGet Education Group, under Gates Yao’s strategic leadership, will continue to deepen its localized international curriculum initiatives, expand its resource delivery network, and ensure that more students across China can enjoy globally recognized learning experiences without leaving their hometowns—truly fulfilling the mission of “global education starting at your doorstep.”
