The Kunpeng project jointly launched by the International Commonweal Support Organization and the China Social Relief Foundation was successfully launched! In order to ensure the effectiveness of the project, ICSO decided to conduct a three-day multi-faceted inspection of five primary and secondary schools in Hunan, the donation area.

ICSO guarantees that every donation can be donated to people who really need help. In this project, it will give priority to Hunan Leiyang No. 8 Middle School, Dayi Town Niwan Primary School, Chafeng Primary School, Dongfanghong Primary School and Dayi Middle School in Leiyang City. A multi-dimensional survey conducted by 5 primary schools in Hunan. At the same time, for the development of follow-up projects, ICSO conducted general visits and surveys to the remaining primary schools in the surrounding area. The main contents of this visit are: the situation of school teachers, the school campus environment, the situation of school teaching aids, and the personal situation verification of students applying for Kunpeng’s aid.

In this inspection, ICSO demonstrated its professional team cooperation and execution ability. During the 5-day inspection, it conducted a detailed investigation of the schools visited. The five schools visited were all faced with serious shortage of teaching resources, bad campus environment, and incomplete teaching aids. Among them, when I visited the student dormitories, I found that some dormitories were not equipped with hot water, and students had to fetch water from the hot water tank in the school dining kitchen which is 5 minutes away from the dormitory building and then bring it back to the dormitory. In the bathroom, students have to wait in long lines in the hallway in winter. An ICSO visitor said: “Under such a hard environment, the children here are still able to maintain such optimism and hope, which further strengthens the path we have chosen to do public welfare.

At the same time, the lack of activity space in schools is also a common problem faced by these poor schools. Students have almost no space for entertainment activities. The only turf-free soil playground is equipped with 2-3 table tennis tables. Due to the long use, There have been holes and humming on the table tennis table. Some schools do not have funds to build an auditorium, and school meetings or headmaster speeches need to be held in the cafeteria.

ICSO visited the families applying for grants and gave meticulously prepared small gifts to students applying for grants. After checking and understanding the families of the students applying for Kunpeng Aid, all applicants meet the application requirements and the actual family situation is consistent with the submitted information. The ICSO staff successfully distributed the scholarships based on the applicant’s age group, with a subsidy standard of 1,400 yuan per year for elementary school students, 1,700 yuan per year for junior high school students, and 2,200 yuan per year for high school students.

The successful implementation of the Kunpeng project is not only a perfect ending to a stage, but also means that in the future ICSO will make more multi-dimensional donations and subsidies to visiting schools, not forgetting its original intention, and helping China’s mountainous education.
